Algerian-French interdisciplinary artist Shani Ha (b.1987) works in Paris and New York.
Her sculptures, performances, public art, photographs and drawings explore the somatic fragility of empathy, otherness, togetherness and humanity at large.
From individual to collective, singular to universal, ephemeral to permanent, contemplation to action the abstraction and fluidity of space in her work has been central to her practice.
In 2012 she received an MFA from l’École Supérieure des Beaux Arts du Mans (Talm) in France.
Her work has been presented at the Museum of Art and Design (New York), Pace Gallery for Torkwase Dyson’s Pace Live perfomances (New York, London), the General Consulates of France and of Greece in New York (New York), Grand Palais (Berne, Switzerland), Central Park with NYC Arts in Parks (New York), Fondation Fiminco pour Jeune Création (Romainville, France), Manifesta biennale in Marseille (Aix-En-Provence, France), Darling Greene curated space (New York), Journées Européennes du Patrimoine pour Marseille Provence Capitale Européenne de la Culture (Marseille, France), L’Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts du Mans (Le Mans, France).
Shani Ha curated Invitation Personnelle at the Consulat Général de France à New York for Occupy #3 in 2022, Entre Corps & Oeuvres avec La Collection d’Art Contemporain de Seine Saint Denis et Citoyenneté Jeunesse in 2019 and was awarded with the Prix de la Folie Numérique (Jeune Création + La Folie Numérique, Parc de la Villette Paris) in 2020, Her permanent public artwork is installed in Fontenay-Sous-Bois and Drancy, her work is part the CNAP collection, Ville Fontenay-Sous-Bois, Conseil Départemental de Seine-Saint-Denis and private collections internationally.
